About NorthPay

What we love most about our business is being able to serve larger companies, mom-and-pop shops, and new companies that are not yet established, with the same excellent service. Our company strives to provide exceptional customer service with a high level of integrity, promptness, and a desire to serve others.

Christopher Johnson

Q: What was your first job?

A: I was a “Jack of all trades” at Feldman’s Department Store in Hibbing. I loved helping my co-workers in whatever way they needed, and the experience helped set the stage for a lifetime of serving others. As an interesting side note: Bob Dylan had the same job at Feldman’s when he was growing up. I am still waiting to write my “Like a Rolling Stone.”

Christopher Johnson

President

At NorthPay Financial, Chris is responsible for building a solid foundation for the company to serve others with a high level of integrity. Before forming NorthPay, Chris founded and still serves as President of Concept Financial Group. Chris has led CFG from its inception into the well-respected finance company that it is today. Over its 24-year history, Concept has provided $1 billion of cash flow financing for its valued clients. Before CFG, Chris worked for ten years at a mid-sized Minneapolis-based bank, filling various commercial banking roles. Chris graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a degree in Business Finance.

Chris lives in Columbus, Minnesota, with his wife and four children. When not at home, they are at their cabin in Northern Minnesota. They stay active in many outdoor activities, including downhill skiing, mountain biking, and lake activities. Chris also serves as a substitute teacher at St Peter’s School. When not in the office or helping others, Chris will be traveling the world with Bruce Springsteen on his next tour.

Erik Olson

Q: What is something most people would not expect about you?

A: I was selected to be part of a reality tv show about male synchronized swimming.  The show wasn’t picked up.

Erik "Ole" Olson

Vice President of Business Development

At NorthPay Financial, Erik is responsible for helping companies unlock their full cash flow potential and strengthen their supply chain from top to bottom. Before joining NorthPay, Erik has been in the accounts receivable/supply chain financing industry for 15 years. He has done a little bit of everything, including setting up new prospects, ensuring the collateral is good, daily funding, and strengthening the relationships and business of the client. Erik’s favorite part of the job is getting to know the people behind the companies we help. They are not just a client; they become family.

Erik lives in Burnsville with his wife and daughter. He enjoys taking “random” trips with his family in his free time to see where the road takes them. They especially love the north shore.

Erik’s most memorable trip was a week-long road trip to Myrtle Beach in his Crown Victoria. The only thing they had planned was the hotel in Myrtle Beach. Other than that, they just winged it, driving ten hours each day, stopping at random, local attractions. Then, when it began to get dark, they would find a place to spend the night.  They visited Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Missouri, and Iowa, before returning home.

When not traveling, Erik loves to watch movies, standup comedy, and sporting events. He is a HUGE Minnesota Vikings fan.
